We are a Regional Army Reserve Royal Signals unit with sub-unit locations throughout the Midlands and the north of England. Our primary role is UK Operations, where we provide communications between the Military and civilian organisations such as the Emergency Services.
Examples of the types of situation we may be involved in are:
37th Signal Regiment has the latest Military Communication Information Systems (CIS) equipment, and our Officers and Soldiers receive full training on our hi-tech kit as well as developing their basic soldiering skills. Army Reservists receive the same daily rate of pay as their regular counterparts for all the training they undertake and there are many opportunities for them to deploy around the world to places such as Cyprus, Italy, France and Gibraltar. They also get leadership training and experience, driver training (including basic licence acquisition) and gain qualifications which are recognised in the civilian work place.
Like their Regular counterparts, members of the Army Reserve also get paid to undertake adventurous training activities such as skiing and sailing as well as competing in various sports. The different squadrons also have a lively social calendar with a variety of activities and events throughout the year.
We are always looking for keen, committed people who relish a challenging and rewarding environment to join us as both as Officers and as Soldiers. You don’t need any previous Signals or IT knowledge and we can provide full advice about how to build your fitness levels to those required by the Army.
More information on the criteria for joining can be found on the “Joining the Army” part of the Army website. Please use the links on the left to find out more about our sub-units and to access the contact info for their recruiting teams.
