CAMUS in Kabul

The Band of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, part of the Corps of Army Music entertained the Afghan National Army Officer Academy (ANAOA) Coalition Forces Mentors at Camp Qargha in Kabul.

The Band arrived in Afghanistan in the early hours of the 17 Dec and arrived at Camp Qargha and performed the same day. They performed a Carol Service for all staff bringing the traditional and contemporary together ensuring that much needed Christmas cheer was brought to all serving at Camp Qargha.

After dinner the Band set up in the cookhouse and entertained all from Brigadier to Private with an evening of live music ranging from the 70’s to the present. With soldiers from Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Denmark, the USA and Germany it was a truly international affair with high praise from all and much disappointment was felt as the band ended their all to brief visit.

The Band were humbled by the reception and left Camp Qargha on a high knowing they had increased exponentially the morale and lifted the spirits of all.
