Awesome Armour

The Panther Command and Liaison Vehicle is one tough machine. Built specifically to be used on operations in Afghanistan, this is no ordinary 4x4 – and can withstand pretty much anything the enemy can throw at it.

It has full underbelly armour that is shaped in a V to deflect any blast out to the sides rather than up through the cabin.

The compartment where the crew sit is completely sealed, and if the Panther is hit by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), the cabin will rise up rather than blow apart, detaching and shaking from side to side to keep its occupants safe.

The weapon on the top of the vehicle is operated from a joystick in the cabin, meaning the gunner doesn’t to have to stick his head out of the top and be exposed to any potential danger.

Used as a liaison vehicle in Afghanistan, the Panther allows a commander to move quickly around – carrying kit and ammunition, and replenishing troops if necessary.

Fully-fitted with Bowman radios, it is a vital way of staying in touch – absolutely crucial when you’re on the battlefield.
