Sport

Sport is critically important to the morale, welfare and operational effectiveness of Army personnel.

All OCdts who are keen to pursue a sporting interest can do so – whatever their ability.

The UOTCs have teams for most of the major sports that run throughout the year. If you have an interest in a sport not already played by your UOTC, then why not set up your own team! There are regular training sessions and UOTC teams play a mixture of university faculty teams and other local military teams.

OCdts get paid whilst on duty which includes when they represent their UOTC at sport.

Queen's Cup Challenge

The culmination of the year's sport occurs at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst where UOTCs compete for the Queen's Challenge Cup. Here, all 18 UOTCs are invited to enter teams in several different competitions including football, rugby, hockey, netball, tug of war, orienteering and the Sandhurst Dash. Not only is it a great chance to meet (and beat) other UOTCs, but it's also good fun!
