Step 1

We are attending Fresher Fairs at Newcastle, Northumbria, Durham, Sunderland and Teesside Universities throughout September – October 2017.  Our stand is usually found amongst the other Uni Clubs & Societies, we will be wearing our black and red polo shirts and combat trousers.  We can answer any questions and tell you about activities you would expect to do and get paid for.

If you are unable to attend our email address is

or 0191 2395328 where you can find out more information and book a place on our Open Evenings or Induction days (see table for dates).

Step 2

Attend an Open Evening, we are holding 3 in 2017 (dates above).  They are located at Northumbrian Officers’ Training Corps, St Cuthbert’s Keep, Holland Drive, Newcastle, NE2 4LD building.  You will be hosted for the evening by the Officer Cadets whom attended Freshers where they can answer any further questions, you will also get to see our training facility and meet the staff.  We will also give you something to eat and you will experience the on-site bar.  Invite any friends you may have who may also be interested to this informal evening.  The evening is ran from 7pm until 9 pm with food and drinks until 10pm.  You are invited to attend any Open Evening – if you cannot attend the designated one for your university.

Just turn up – no need to book.

Step 3

We have a lot of students each year who want to join. If you decide you would like to join you will be invited at the end of the Open Evening to sign up for a place on our induction day and a separate medical date. the induction will comprise of team command task activities, documentation and a basic fitness test.
