All members of Queen's UOTC are students, either undergraduate or postgraduate, at universities or colleges within Northern Ireland. As a result, Queen's UOTC reflects the cultural diversity of students in Northern Ireland, as well as being one of its best student clubs.

Queen's UOTC offers unbelievable opportunities for leadership development through military training, adventure training and social activities. Some of the training is challenging but it is always fun.

Many Officer Cadets view the OTC as a means of obtaining skills that will be valuable in a range of civilian professions - they are equally as valued members of the Corps as those with longer-term military aspirations. Officer Cadets who attend Queen's University can gain Degree Plus qualification and Officer Cadets who attend the University of Ulster can gain the Edge qualification.

Queens UOTC

Queen’s UOTC is geared to student life and the demands of the academic year.

Typically, the training programme covers Wednesday evenings in term-time plus on average one or sometimes two weekends away per month, between October and March.

There is also a two-week summer camp, usually immediately after the exam-season in June.
